Maybe 4K-3D is on the horizon . I bought the 2016 LG uh8500 for the 3D support even though I don't watch 3D all that often its nice to have . I like 3D animated films (coraline, paranorman, and recently Kubo and the six strings). HDR is the next big thing so hopefully as tv's improve we'll see 3D come back.

I think 3D will be back. once everyone has their 4K hdr tv manufactures are going to need another new feature to entice people again. They could get them out in time for the new avatar trilogy which I'm sure Is being filmed in 3D again.

Oh man thank god!!! Kill the sucker off please!!!

And can someone tell the movie industry to shut it down too and stop charging the additional high fees for the added non-bonus of 3D!

It's pain literally cause it causes some people migraines and headaches and for people who wear glasses…to wear another pair on top of that is just a pain in the ass!

Just improve the picture and support theaters by helping them get better equipment so we can all see and experience a great movie experience! That's all that people want! Go away 3D!

I said it'd have a short life when it all started about 6/7 years ago. In 2010 was buying a new TV and the sales guy in the shop said if I wait 3 weeks the 3D models would be in and cost the same. Told him then no thanks and never regretted it for a second. Next nonsense thing that will also die off is VR. It's a novelty that will go the way of 3D too. Now when it comes to 4K, OLED, HDR, slimness, I'm all for all those things.

Well all the 3DTV will be sold off Cheep -thus giving everyone a 3DTV then they will say sales of 3D tv went up , and then bring it back thinking everyone wants them …

the thing that hurt 3d was Hollywood going cheap to raise ticket prices. natively filmed 3-d movies were fantastic. post converted was definite scam that left a bad taste for a lot of people.

Do you know why? That's because people hate wearing tiresome things. so VR gears may follow the same way.

Is the technology really that hard or expensive that it can't be included in all TVs? Seems like something that might occasionally be useful.

The problem with online petitions is that for every signature from someone who cares about what the petition is for, there are ten more from people who saw it on Facebook and signed, just to support their friend. That's where the support ends, though. Nobody is going to run out and buy a 3D TV to support their friends' desire to keep them alive.
